Note on a relatively inexpensive yet convenient hotel:

A Louisiana Tech doctoral student recommends the Drury Hotel on Canal Street for graduate students (or faculty) on a tight budget. In his words...

"...the hotel is very good looking, on the tramway line, relatively cheap (they have an e-saver
special if you reserve early at around $70), breakfast is included and very good (eggs,
sausage, and so on), free coke and popcorn in the room, and they offer drinks in the evening
with some snacks."

The Canal Street trolley runs between the Drury Hotel and the Sheraton and Marriott Hotels (the conference venues) - schedules and prices can be found at the official NORTA web site.
